Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of https://istc.co and the participant portal on it, and your participation in the Indian Strategy & Trading Conclave (ISTC). By signing in or competing, you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the service.

ISTC is organised by the ISTC team. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean the organisers, and "you" means a participant.

Eligibility

ISTC is open to undergraduate students at the institutions listed on our public pages. Creating a new portal account requires an email address from an eligible institution. Participants who competed at an event using a personal email address keep access to the account they already have.

We may ask you to confirm your student status, and we may decline or withdraw participation if you are not eligible.

Your account

• One account per person. Do not create more than one, and do not compete under someone else's identity.
• Your name and username come from your sign-in account. They are not self-reported, and you cannot change them in the portal. This is deliberate: a firm reading your profile should be able to trust that the name on it is real.
• Do not share your account. You are responsible for activity under it. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access.

What you upload

You keep ownership of your resume and anything else you add to your profile. By adding it, you give us permission to store it and to show it to partner firms and to our own team, for the purpose of running the programme and presenting you to those firms.

By uploading, you confirm that:

• the content is accurate and about you
• you have the right to share it, and it does not infringe anyone else's rights
• it contains nothing unlawful, and no personal data about other people that you are not entitled to share

We may remove content that breaches these terms. We do not verify the accuracy of what you upload, and misrepresenting your record is grounds for disqualification.

Competition conduct

You agree not to:

• collude with other participants, or share solutions during a round
• use automation or external assistance beyond what a given event's rules permit
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to our systems or any other participant's data
• misrepresent your identity, institution, or academic record

Each event may publish additional rules. Where they are more specific than these terms, they apply. We may disqualify a participant, void a result, or remove an account for breaching either.

Results and certificates

We decide when and whether results are published, and the format they take. Rankings and certificates appear in your portal once released. We may correct a published result if we find an error.

Decisions about scoring, advancement, and disqualification rest with the organisers. We will explain a decision if you ask, but we are not obliged to enter an extended dispute about it.

No guarantee of employment

ISTC is a talent identification programme, not a recruitment agency. Participating, placing well, or having your profile viewed by a firm does not entitle you to an internship, a job, an interview, or any offer. Hiring decisions belong entirely to the firms, and any process you enter with them is between you and them, on their terms.

Availability

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it. We rely on third-party providers for hosting, authentication, and storage, and we are not responsible for their outages.

Ending your participation

You can stop at any time and ask us to delete your account, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if you are ineligible, or if the programme ends.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost opportunities, or lost data arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms, and will change the date at the top when we do. If a change materially affects you, we will contact participants rather than relying on you to re-read this page. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.
